Affiliate Disclosure
A plain-language explanation of how Zups earns money.
Zups is free to use. When you're ready to book — a flight, a hotel, a hostel, a ferry, a tour or experience, ground transport — Zups hands you off to an external provider's website to complete the reservation. Some of those outbound links earn Zups a commission; most do not.
Compensated affiliate relationships
At present, Zups has affiliate relationships — meaning we may receive a commission on qualifying bookings — with the following providers:
- Flights: Kiwi.com, via the Travelpayouts affiliate network.
- Accommodations: Expedia.
If either of these arrangements ends, or if Zups adds new compensated relationships, this page will be updated.
Other external providers you may be sent to
Zups also links out to the following providers as legitimate planning, routing, or booking destinations. Zups does not currently earn a commission when you use these links:
- Accommodations: Hostelworld.
- Ground transport & routing: Rome2Rio, and — for a small number of island routes — direct ferry-operator websites (for example, Caremar and Jadrolinija).
- Experiences and tours: GetYourGuide, Viator.
Zups is not the seller in any of these cases. The provider is. When you book, you are booking with the provider under their terms and their privacy policy.
How the link works, technically
When you tap an outbound "book with" link in Zups, we open the provider's website with a URL that includes:
- Your trip parameters — origin, destination, dates, adult count — so the provider's search page opens with the right query.
- Where applicable, Zups' affiliate marker for that provider, so the provider knows the click came from us.
- Where applicable, a random identifier used solely so the provider can tell us — separately, later — if a booking eventually completes. That random identifier is not your Zups account ID, email, or Apple identifier.
We do not send your name, email, Apple identifier, precise location, payment info, or booking details to any provider. Those never leave your device (or are entered directly on the provider's site, not through Zups). See our Privacy Policy for the full data-flow.
Does this affect what Zups shows me?
Trip ideas, destination content, and route options in Zups are chosen based on what we think is genuinely useful — not based on which provider pays more. Where we can display multiple options for the same segment, we try to show what's actually cheapest or fastest. If we ever change this, we'll say so here.
In-app disclosure
This page explains the affiliate relationship as a whole. Zups also surfaces a compact disclosure near booking-handoff points inside the app, with a link back to this page.
Not investment or booking advice
Anything Zups shows about prices, routes, or destinations is informational. Verify important details on the partner's site or the destination's official sources before you commit money to a trip. See our Terms of Service for more.
